Alison running and on the podium

Alison went over to France with one aim… to win a place at the New Zealand championship, and she did it!

She claims she had a rubbish swim and bike, but the swim was a jump start from a jetty (she sat on the jetty for a while before plucking up the courage to jump in) and she didn’t swim straight (zig zagging about trying to avoid the canoeist who were telling her off for going too wide!). The bike course was actually quite hilly (4000ft of climbing with one massive hill of 1900ft), so that explains her slow bike time. So all in all, she didn’t do to badly, though she really does need to work on her downhills, and stop being such a massive wimp!

A good run after a long hilly ride, and overall she came 2nd in her age category. So well done.
